Everything was delicious! We ate way too much here. The only negative thing we could say would be that the spice is not as hot as normal 5 star Thai restaurants. We usually are a solid 2 that way when reheating the next day you are still able to eat it. 2 was basically a hint of spice here, it didn't build up to be hotter either. We only regret not ordering at least 3 stars.

You can count on The Basil being an excellent meal! I always tell people this is the best Thai Food anywhere and I try it every where. So lucky to have it here in my home town of Carson City. You can not go wrong ordering any item! But certainly try the mango roll. If there are any left. The best mango and sticky rice as well!

It's been quite a while since I've been able to visit The Basil. I was in the area for an event and brought eight people with me for dinner. I was pleasantly reminded how great the service is and everyone was happy with the food. Personally I had the chicken green curry with sticky rice. Amazing! I cannot wait to find a reason to be in the area again. Much love to this restaurant!

Again, I almost hate reviewing this place as it's such a gem and some of the best Thai cooking on the planet. The reason I "almost hate reviewing it" is because I still want to be able to eat here without crazy competition to get a seat...! I have been to Thailand many times and can make this claim; it's one of the best! You wouldn't think that Carson City, Nevada has such game for Thai cuisine but here it is! The food is always amazing no matter what you order. The place is decorated with all sorts of carvings and paintings from their home country and my only recommendation would be to NOT sit at the front windows during the sunset hours...! You'll be in an oven for the duration...! The servers there such as Ratree, Penny, et Al will all take very good care of you with a smile. Hope you enjoy! My wife won't eat Thai anywhere else...! She's tried but always been disappointed elsewhere!

What a surprise to find such a slice of Thailand on the main street! Pleasantly decorated interior. Friendly hostess. Also, the cook brought our food out wearing gloves. I like that. I came in for lunch, so that means you get a flavorful cabbage-tofu soup in addition to your meal plate. I was never asked what heat level for my curry but it was warming and satisfying for me but was on the edge for Mr. Bland. He ordered a tofu ginger plate and he really enjoyed it. He even found a ginger piece that was stuck in his teeth an hour later and he enjoyed that, too.

As always the creamy cocoanut soup is like a rich comfort food with just little bite! Almost too much for this ultra wimp. Tried the fried rice with just hint of fresh sweetness, perfectly steamed shrimp an chicken! Always friendly service and beautiful surroundings. NEW menu items centering on soft shell crab! Next time!!!

This place seems to be a hot spot in Carson City! Every table was taken by the time we left here on Friday night so we were glad we could grab a table. The servers were efficient and friendly and the decor is interesting. We liked that it was still decorated for Christmas. For food, we started with their fresh mango rolls and they were excellent. For mains, my son had Drunken Noodles with pork, my husband had Tom Yum soup, and I had Pad Thai with shrimp. My benchmark for evaluating Thai restaurants is Pad Thai and theirs was pretty good. Not my favorite ever, but still tasty. We felt the prices are the going rate for Thai restaurants - so not cheap but not outrageous. We would go back.

The ambiance was perfect. Happy people enjoying great food in a quaint, cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Servers made us feel welcome and taken care of, even though the place was full. Portions were just right, enough for one meal. Delicious, and even on the spicier dishes, they were mildly spicy. The cream cheese wontons and accompanying sauce were stellar. A delightful experience overall!
